Will God give it to me, or is it His will?

Writer: james chackojames chacko

Recently, a thought came to mind during a season: Is God going to help me here? I believe in God, and I believe He is powerful and able to deliver me from all my problems. But the question that often arises is, I know He can help me, but will He? Or does He have something else in mind? Will He do it for me?

This question resonates with many people. We often desperately want certain things to happen in our lives, but when obstacles arise, we begin to doubt: Does God really want to give this to me?

Jesus Himself faced a similar moment, as recorded in Matthew 26:39: “My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.”

As Christians, the answer lies in continuous prayer and trust in God because He is a loving Father. Matthew 7:9-11 says:

“What would you do if your son asks for bread? Which of you would give him a stone?  Or if your son asks for a fish, would you give him a snake? Even though you are bad, you know how to give good gifts to your children. So surely your heavenly Father will give good things to those who ask him."

Our dear God will give us every good thing we need in our lives, so we should continuously ask in our prayers.

Along with that, we should thank Him as if we have already received His blessings because this demonstrates our faith. Mark 11:24 says: "So I tell you to ask for things in prayer. And if you believe that you have received those things, then they will be yours."

To answer the question, Will God give it to me, or is it His will? — remember that His ways are not our ways, and His thoughts are not our thoughts. Isaiah 55:9 says: The Lord says, “Your thoughts are not like my thoughts. Your ways are not like my ways. Just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways. And my thoughts are higher than your thoughts."What we can do is pray continually for our requests, thank God as if we have already received His blessings, and pray, “Not my will, Jesus, but Your will be done.”

Remember, our God is loving, and He knows what is best for us. Whatever happens—good or bad—stay close to Him, Trust Him and abide in Him.
