Life of Zacchaeus......

In Bible, there is a guy called Zacchaeus who was a tax collector. If we read Luke chapter 19, we can see his story in detail (Luke 19:1).

Looking closely at Zacchaeus' life, we can understand a life-changing event that can be applied to our life.

Zacchaeus was a tax collector and collected money from people illegally or by cheating. Some of us are also the same as Zacchaeus in one way or another. For example, we can cheat the Government in many ways by evading tax, not paying bus fares or transportation fees, and using Insurance to buy things. These all seem like small ways of cheating, but it's still a sin to cheat others if we are making money; even if it is a small amount, it's still considered theft in God's eye.

So what can we do to avoid these sins? Stop wanting more and more; ask God for what we need today. If you have made money by cheating others, give it back; that's what Zacchaeus did when he found out he was doing wrong. The same applies to us; we should give back to the Government or to people we cheated on and made money.

When Zachheus gave back the money he made illegally, he became the son of Abraham that instance. The same applies to us also. We can also be a son of Abraham, and we can receive salvation. Jesus said, "Salvation has come to this house today. This man truly belongs to the family of Abraham. 10 The Son of Man came to find lost people and save them." (Luke 19:9)
